Carson National Forest
Carson National Forest is a pet-friendly public area in Taos, NM. Some of the finest mountain scenery in the Southwest is found in this 1.5 million acre forest. Elevations rise from 6,000 feet to 13,161 feet at Wheeler Peak, the highest in New Mexico, also found within the park. Leashed dogs are allowed on the trails, as long as all mess is cleaned up after them.
