Joseph Sylvia State Beach in Edgartown, MA allows dogs on the beach from October 1 to March 31. During the month of September they are welcome before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m. Pets are prohibited during summer months. Four-legged beach goers must be cleaned up after. The two miles of Nantucket Sound shoreline of State Beach is a very popular beach for families because there is a gradual slope into deeper water and the waves are usually small.
