Brightsdale Forest Management Unit
The Brightsdale Forest Management Unit is a pet-friendly, 900-acre segment of Richard J. Dorer Memorial Hardwood State Forest in Lanesboro, MN. Named after a historic hydroelectric plant along the Root River, it boasts a 5-mile interpretive trail offering educational tours of the forest. During the summer, the cross-country ski trails double as excellent hiking paths, providing opportunities for outdoor exploration and environmental education.
