Bates State Park
Bates State Park, a pet-friendly attraction nestled in the scenic Blue Mountains of Oregon, boasts a rich history as a former lumber mill site and town, with interpretive panels detailing its past and ongoing restoration efforts. Visitors and their leashed dogs can immerse themselves in the park's natural beauty by exploring over three miles of hiking trails offering panoramic views of the park, old mill pond, and lush valley along the Middle Fork John Day River, Bridge Creek, and Clear Creek. The park is open to the public from May to November.
