    Great park but

I love Dolores Park to relax and hangout with friends. The view is spectacular. My dog loves running around the park off leash, however many of the people there are not very nice and friendly to dogs. One time my dog was kicked in the face by a fellow dog owner. Since then I stopped bringing her to this park. I would suggest to check out Precita Park instead

Nice park - no fenced in area

The park is beautiful but there is no fenced in area at all (this is common in SF parks). If your dog is fine off leash it is a lovely place, but if you're looking for a fenced in area to play with your pup, this ain't it sis.

Just be smart, it's a great park but can be VERY crowded!

75% of the time Dolores park is awesome for both dogs and kids. The off-leash area, while not fenced in, is a sloping bowl that mostly keeps dogs close. Our dog is fine off-leash, so it never bothers us, we prefer the wide-open space offered here, the working dog fountain for drinks and generally great weather. Plus the kids play area was redone in 2017 and our kid loves it, so I can "run" them both at the same time, But please, use your head, Delores park is also one of the most heavily populated urban parks I have ever seen anywhere...on days when there are 6,000 people hanging out enjoying lots of adult beverages and other relaxations in the small park...maybe you should find another place to get your dog's outdoor time! Delores park is awesome, but some days are just not the right day to bring your dog.

A Bit Crowded with Little Room to Romp Around

Mission Dolores is dog friendly, but on the weekends, you'd be hard pressed to find a really good spot to give your dog a really good run. There's usually a lot of people and quite a bit going on.

Great place to hang out with friends and enjoy a picnic if your doggy is willing to stay relatively still :)

Beautiful Park, Off Leash W/O Fence

We’re not quite comfortable letting our dog roam totally freely without a fenced in off leash area, but that didn’t stop us from having a good time. Lots of dogs and kids running around so it can be very stimulating if you have a reactive dog, but once ours got used to it he was blissfully lying on the grassy hill
