We were able to walk the grounds and look at everything. It was absolutely gorgeous. Pet friendly for sure!

Large Park and Meadows for Exercise

Good variety of places to go walking with your doggie, also with a large open meadow space which is perfect for frisbee or other games. The "Inside Allerton Park" book is a great guide to the trails and gardens here. This is an all-season park to enjoy with your dog.

    Lovely Day In The Park

Nice gardens, sculptures, and walking trail. After our hike, we enjoyed a picnic. Plus, it’s donation only.

    Investigator

I visited Allerton Park several years ago and was completely impressed.. I wanted to know how Robert Allerton had the money to put together such an enchanting, beautiful place and wondered why he donated it to the college instead of willing it to relatives. It was nice when I saw it, but imagined how it was back in the day. . . The Sun Worshiper, The Centurian, the Foo dogs. . . It was like stepping back in time. A movie should be made of those times. It is so beautiful there.
