Dog Friendly Beaches Near JFK Airport

Rockaway Beach is New York City's only legal surfing beach, making it a top attraction in Queens, NY. Fido doesn't need a surfboard to enjoy a day in the sun. Leashed dogs are welcome on the beach and the pet-friendly boardwalk. Pet owners must have proof of current dog license and rabies vaccination. Please note that, although Rockaway Beach is open year-round, dogs are only allowed during the off-season from October 1 to May 1.

Atlantic Beach is a seaside community on the south shore of Long Island, NY. Located just 21 miles from Manhattan, the sandy beaches in the area are dog-friendly from October through March.
