Dog Friendly Beaches in Canada

Pack up the whole family for a day of fun at Sun-Oka Beach Provincial Park in Summerland, BC. The park features a dog-friendly beach with views of Okanagan Lake. The park also features hiking trails that meander through one of the last remaining plots of old-growth cottonwood in the area.

Bring Fido to the dog beach at Port Burwell Provincial Park, located on the shores of Lake Erie in Port Burwell, ON. Open seasonally from May until October, dogs are welcome to enjoy off-leash exercise and swimming from dawn until dusk. Please note, dogs are only permitted to enter the beach through the access point located east of P1 which leads directly to the dog beach and off-leash area. Fido isn't permitted on any other areas, or beach entry points P2, P3, P4 and P5.

Stop along Points East Coastal Drive in Mount Stewart, PE, to check out Blooming Point Beach! This pet-friendly spot is on the island's northern tip, where visitors can stroll along the white sand beach and dip a paw in the ocean. Leashed dogs are welcome on the beach.

Leashed dogs are welcome at Singing Sands Beach, a seasonal, pet-friendly beach in Tobermory, ON. This beach on Lake Huron is accessible from May 20th through October 31st, and features interpretive trails, picnic areas and shallow water access that stretches many feet out into the lake. Parking does tend to fill up quickly in the summer, and please note that a fee is involved.

You can enjoy a day at the beach with your pup at Cherry/Clark Beach. With ample parking, close proximity to the Martin Goodman Trail, and a designated off-leash area for dogs to romp along the beach's western boundary, you and Fido are sure to enjoy a trip to this popular spot in Toronto.

Pinery Provincial Park is pet-friendly. This provincial park is located on Lake Huron near Grand Bend, Ontario. Dogs are welcome on the P1 and P2 sections of the sand. Bring your pooch along to have fun in the sun, but make sure they are leashed and you clean up any mess that is left behind.

Outlet Beach Parking is pet-friendly. Access the beach from this parking area and enjoy a wonderful clean dog friendly beach where your dogs can play in the waves or the river. The beach area is very popular with families so keep your dog on a leash if they don't have good recall.

Canoe Beach has a small area that is dog friendly to the far right of the public beach area in Salmon Arm, BC. It's partially fenced and includes some shaded, grassy areas, as well as a section of gravel beach.

Officially the beach is on-leash (like all Tofino beaches) but as you will notice most local dogs are friendly and off leash.

Four-legged friends are invited to visit the pet-friendly Sugar Beach Park in Toronto, ON. This local oasis features pink umbrellas in beautiful white sand overlooking the water as well as a dog fountain. Leashed dogs are welcome to unwind with their owners on the sand, take a stroll along the dockside, or relax at a bench and watch the boats float by.

Plage du Parc de la Baie-de-Magog is pet-friendly. Lcated on the shore of Lake Memphremagog, the beach offers two accesses for swimming in the lake. Take a refreshing break at one of the supervised beaches during your dog walk. The beach hours depend on the season and weather conditions.

Long Point offers an off-leash dog exercise/beach area located at the west end of the day-use beach, in the New Park area. It is important to remember that dogs must be controlled by their owner at all times and must be kept on a leash in any other area of the park.
