James Island County Park A visit to dog-friendly James Island County Park is a great way to spend an afternoon in Charleston, SC, with your pup. Gatlinburg SkyLift Park Gatlinburg SkyLift Park is a pet-friendly attraction in Tennessee. Small, leashed dogs are welcome if they can be held on your lap while on the SkyLift chairs. Lake Eola Park Although technically not a dog park, the nearly 1-mile walking path around Lake Eola in downtown Orlando, Florida is very pet-friendly. There are several dog-related events that take place at Lake Eola each year, and almost any time of the day you'll find pet owners taking their four-legged friends for a walk around the lake. Poop bag dispensers are conveniently located on the lake path so that you can clean up after your pet. In addition to the lake path, visitors can also rent swan boats to enjoy with pets up to 5 lbs. There is also an amphitheater where concerts and other events are regularly held, as well as a couple of pet-friendly restaurants next to the lake, which will allow you to dine outdoors with your pooch. Lake Baldwin Park Lake Baldwin Park in Winter Park, FL, offers an off-leash dog area (during designated hours) near the water with picnic tables, two pavilions, and doggie showers. The park is closed every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month until 12pm for maintenance. See Details
Dog Mountain Dog Mountain is THE meeting place for dogs with their people. Located in the breathtakingly beautiful Northeast Kingdom of St. Johnsbury, Vermont, this 150-acre farm has been transformed into a doggy playscape complete with swimming ponds, hiking trails, an art gallery full of dog-related artwork and the only Dog Chapel in existence. The Chapel, built by Vermont folk artist and children's book author Stephen Huneck, is visited by thousands annually to reflect and post message and photos of pets that have passed on. Ortiz Dog Park is one of the largest parks of its kind in the United States. The dog-friendly park is not fenced-in, but dogs can roam comfortably on the trails without approaching the outer perimeters. Dogs are allowed off leash to run and play. Nancy Weidenhamer Dog Park Nancy Weidenhamer Dog Park, located in Destin, FL, is a dog-friendly, 1.5-acre, secure area for Fido to play. Originally known as Destin Dog Park, it was renamed Nancy Weidenhamer Dog Park in 2017 to honor the memory of its founder. Open from sunrise until sunset, Fido is welcome to run off leash at this popular neighborhood gathering spot. There is a separate area for small dogs to play. Fox Run Dog Park Fox Run Dog Park is a grassy space for Fido to play and socialize off-leash in Colorado Springs' Fox Run Regional Park. The park is made up of five fenced-in acres, and features a small dog area and a large dog area, bag dispensers, trash cans, benches, shaded areas and more. Fox Run Dog Park is located inside the Fox Run Regional Park, in the southeast corner, accessible from the main park entrance off of Stella Drive. Watkins Glen State Park Watkins Glen State Park is a popular dog-friendly recreation area offering hiking and camping in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Glen's stream flows over towering cliffs to create 19 waterfalls within a two mile stretch. Fido is welcome to explore the trails in this park, but dogs must be kept on a leash or in a carrier. Quarry Run Dog Park Quarry Run Dog Park in Portland, ME, has seven acres of fenced, off-leash play space for dogs and their humans to enjoy. Inside the large fenced area is a smaller fenced area for smaller dogs to play without stress. Outside of the park, there are acres of trails to explore with your leashed dog. Laguna Beach Dog Park Laguna Beach Dog Park is a great place for the dogs of Laguna Beach to get some exercise and socialize while their owners share the latest news from around town and around the world. The park is open daily from dawn to dusk, except Wednesdays when it's closed for maintenance. When at the dog park, you must pick up after your dog in and out of fenced area. Dogs must be leashed entering and exiting the park. Dogs must be currently licensed. Aggressive dogs must be removed from the park immediately. Professional dog training is not permitted. Spike or pinched collars are not permitted. Sports activities, bicycles, picnics, etc. are not permitted. Take any balls or other toys when you leave. You are responsible for your dog's conduct. If your dog is causing a problem, please leave. Dogs must not be left at the park unattended. See Details
Hondo Dog Park Hondo Dog Park is an off-leash dog park in Hillsboro, OR, known for being well-maintained, with three areas for dogs to play, including a special one for smaller pets. The park is fully fenced. The winter area is open year-round and not weather dependent. The park will close periodically during cold/wet time periods to protect the grass and maintain an enjoyable and safe dog park.
