Can I Bring My Dog to Universal Orlando Resort?

Every year, millions of thrill seekers and adventure lovers travel to Universal Orlando Resort to visit Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Volcano Bay, and the entertainment hub known as Universal CityWalk. Although the theme parks do not allow pets, that doesn’t mean that your four-legged friend has to miss out on all the fun! Four hotels within the Universal Orlando Resort are perfect for Fido’s next pet-friendly getaway.

Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando

Conveniently located steps away from Universal Orlando theme parks and attractions, Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando provides comfortable pet-friendly accommodations in Garden View rooms. Fido will be greeted with treats and bowls at check-in and have access to designated walking areas on the property. Human guests can take advantage of conveniences like transportation to parks, early park admission, swimming pools, restaurants and complimentary WiFi. Guests staying at Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando also have access to Universal Express Unlimited, allowing for the unlimited bypass of regular theme park lines for participating attractions.

Two pets of any size are allowed at Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando for an additional fee of $100 per stay. Both dogs and cats are welcome, and well-behaved pets may be left in the room unattended.

Loews Portofino Bay Resort at Univeral Orlando features top-of-the-line amenities for both two- and four-legged guests. Dogs putting their paws up at Portofino Bay will receive a Loews Loves Pets amenity kit filled with tasty treats, a “Pet-in-Room” door hanger, water bowls, placemats and waste bags. They’ll also have access to designated pet areas outside. Human guests will delight in the Italian charm of the resort which features cobblestone streets and outdoor cafes. Take advantage of conveniences like transportation to parks, early park admission, themed swimming pools and complimentary WiFi, and enjoy access to Universal Express Unlimited to bypass regular theme park lines an unlimited number of times on participating attractions.

Loews Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Orlando

Loews Sapphire Falls Resort at Universal Orlando is pet friendly! As with the other Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando, visiting pets will be greeted with a pet amenity kit, have access to designated pet relief areas throughout the resort, and enjoy in-room dining from the pet room service menu. Cat scratching posts are also available upon request. Visiting humans can enjoy the swimming pool with water slide, arcade room, on-site gym, and conveniences like transportation to parks, early park admission, and complimentary WiFi.

Two pets of any size are accepted for an additional fee of $100 per stay. Pets are only permitted in Standard Two Queen rooms. Both dogs and cats are allowed, but pets may not be left unattended in rooms.

Are pets allowed at any other Universal Orlando Resort Hotels?

Other than the four hotels listed above, no other Universal Orlando Resort hotels allow pets. However, you can find other nearby pet-friendly hotels outside of the Universal Orlando Resort. Only service animals are permitted at the following Universal Orlando properties:

Universal's Aventura Hotel (no pets allowed)

Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort (no pets allowed)

Universal’s Surfside Inn and Suites (no pets allowed)

Universal’s Dockside Inn and Suites (no pets allowed)

Can I Bring My Dog to Universal Orlando Theme Parks or Water Parks?

Except for famous canine characters like Scooby-Doo and the stars of Secret Life of Pets, only service dogs are permitted in Universal Orlando’s theme parks. However, you can find several nearby dog-friendly activities, outdoor restaurants, and pet services to make your dog’s vacation as much fun as possible.

Are Dogs Welcome at Universal CityWalk or on Universal Transportation?

Although the Universal Orlando Resort welcomes dogs at four of its hotels, pets are not allowed in Universal CityWalk Orlando, or on Universal buses or the water taxi. Only service animals are allowed in these areas. Pets are also prohibited at all Universal Orlando shops and restaurants with the exception of select restaurants within the pet-friendly hotels.

Pets are permitted on the walking paths that connect resort hotels to Universal CityWalk and to each other, and there are designated pet relief areas at each of the pet-friendly hotels.

Where Can I Take My Dog While I Explore the Universal Orlando Theme Parks?

Because dogs are not permitted in the Universal Orlando Resort theme parks, water parks, or entertainment complexes, guests with pets should consider making a reservation for doggie daycare at V.I.Pet Resort, located a short distance from the Universal Orlando Resort hotels. While you have fun at the parks, your pups can play and make new friends at the supervised dog park. When canines need to eat or rest, they’re assigned to private suites. In addition to daycare, V.I.Pet Resort also offers overnight boarding services. All pets visiting V.I.Pet Resort must be up-to-date with vaccinations, and pet owners must provide written proof from their vet. They must also play well with other pets. V.I.Pet Resort is open daily.
