The Great Ape Escape 5K-ish

The Great Ape Escape 5K-ish Leashed dogs are welcome at this unique, untimed fun run taking place at the Project Chimps sanctuary! Participants will walk, jog or run along the scenic, hilly course that winds through the 230-acre property, offering glimpses of retired research chimpanzees in their forested habitats. This event provides a rare opportunity to visit the sanctuary, which is not typically open to the public, while supporting the care of over 80 rescued chimps. Along the way, attendees can enjoy interactive educational stations, learn about chimp conservation, and take part in fun, family-friendly activities. The race is designed to be inclusive for all fitness levels, with no pressure to complete it within a set time. Registration includes a commemorative T-shirt, and participants are encouraged to fundraise to further support Project Chimps' mission. The event is rain or shine. See Details
