Kick off the holiday season with Fido at a festive day of fun for the whole family! Enjoy professional pet photos with Santa (three included), sip and snack on treats from local vendors, and shop for holiday goodies like ornaments and wreaths.

This dog-friendly fundraiser invites guests to walk a 1.3-mile section of the Tanglewood Festival of Lights with leashed dogs, family and friends before the display opens to the public. Visitors can enjoy a food truck rodeo, shop with local vendors, and support the Humane Society of Davie County’s low-cost spay/neuter clinic, adoption program and community pet food pantry. Advance tickets are required for a designated entry time, and retractable leashes aren't permitted. All attendees must use the back gate entrance of Tanglewood off of Idols Road.

Take a stroll down Main Street with Fido and shop from 100+ local artisans, makers and pop up boutiques lining the road.

Leashed dogs are welcome at the annual holiday parade that starts at the intersection of 4th Street NW and 1st Avenue NW. The parade will continue on 1st Avenue NW towards City Hall, turn right on North Center Street, and then right on Main Avenue NW to Union Square. Immediately following the parade, Santa will light the tree on Union Square. Guests can enjoy holiday music, shopping specials and more!

Stroll through a lively holiday market featuring over 35 local artisans, fresh-cut Christmas trees, and warm seasonal treats like hot cocoa and cider. Don’t miss the highlight of the evening, the Christmas tree lighting ceremony at 6:30 PM, for a magical moment to kick off the season!

Bring Fido to this fun, annual event featuring a 1-mile fun run for kids, followed by the 10K walk/run and 5K races. Four-legged pacesetters can run with their owners in either of the races. A turkey and trophy will be awarded to the top male & female in the 5K and 10K.

Each Thanksgiving, runners and walkers of all ages participate in this 5K event to help fight poverty. Leashed dogs are welcome to walk or run with you. The Top three overall male and female finishers receive running store gift cards; the top three finishers in each age category will take home a festive little Turkey Trot treat. Register by November 8th to receive a race t-shirt! Donations of canned goods or shelf-stable food items are welcomed and appreciated on race day.

The whole family, including your four-legged friend, is invited to partake in this annual un-timed fun run! Registration, coffee and donuts will begin at 7:00 AM, with the race stepping off at 8:00 AM. Participants are encouraged to stick around for the post-race gathering featuring local vendors. Walkers with strollers and dogs are asked to start at the back.

This family- and dog-friendly holiday celebration kicks off the season with games, live music, caroling, hot chocolate and visits with Santa. The town is illuminated during the festivities, and the celebration is followed the next morning by the annual Christmas Parade along Main Street!

Leashed dogs are welcome to come cheer (bark) on Santa as he prepares for his big night by rappelling down the 315-foot Chimney Rock! Guests are also welcome to write a letter to Santa, create a holiday craft, take a photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus, hike with an elf, and meet live Park animal ambassadors. Bring Fido along for a festive drive-through Christmas light extravaganza! Enjoy a 4-mile journey through three million twinkling lights, plus the chance to take a lap around "The World's Fastest Half-Mile." Please ensure your pup remains in the car with you at all times.

Bring Fido to stroll through Blowing Rock and see all the gorgeous ice sculptures during Blowing Rock WinterFest! Artisan Ice Sculptures is one of only five Master Ice Carvers in the United States. A dozen ice sculptures will be on display in front of businesses in town. Please note that the duration of the ice art is dependent on the weather.

If you're attending the Blowing Rock WinterFest with Fido, don't miss the annual Polar Bear Plunge at Chetola Lake! Leashed dogs are welcome as spectators to watch brave human participants take a daring dip into icy waters. Spend the weekend in a dog-friendly room on site at Chetola Resort! The plunge starts at 10 AM and plungers must be checked-in by 9:30 AM.

Bring Fido to the Village of Blowing Rock to celebrate the fun side of winter at this annual event! Activities throughout the weekend include the WinterPaws Dog Show, ice carvings at the Artisan Ice Stroll, an icy Polar Bear Plunge in Chetola Lake, a winter beer garden, and more. Not all activities are dog friendly, so be sure to inquire first before bringing Fido.

Enjoy a tail-wagging day at Lake Julian filled with exciting dog activities, entertaining shows, and the chance to meet adoptable pups from local rescues. Leashed dogs are welcome to join the fun, including in contests. The event also features food trucks and a variety of pet-focused vendors offering treats, products and services for your furry friends.
