A true 3 bone hotel
Red Roof Inn PLUS+ GainesvilleThis a true 3 bone hotel. Not fancy, but not a dump. It's just an average hotel, with average updates, and average aging and wear. We stayed on two different nights. One room smelled like cat pee with a rickety old a/c that smelled equally as bad. The second room had no odor whatsoever and had a better a/c. The pet-friendly rooms have hard floors which is ideal for proper cleaning and sanitation between guests. There is carpeting that surrounds just the beds. I suspect that carpet is gross, so I just made sure to not put my bare feet on it. The mattresses are pretty hard and the pillows are very flat, it's unfortunately not a great night's sleep. The bedding however, was at least very clean and felt nice. The staff was super friendly as well.
SMELLS GOOD AND CLEAN!
Best Western Airport InnPleasantly surprised. We stayed in a room that did NOT smell like the usual pet-friendly room (you know the smell!). The hotel is nicely updated and in good, clean condition. I want to give it 5 bones, but I can only leave 4 stars because of the flooring; The room was carpeted and I strongly believe pet-friendly rooms should have hard floors for optimal cleaning and sanitation between guests. NOTE: The hotel states that pet-friendly rooms are all first-floor rooms with tile, but mine was on the second floor with carpet. I think I may have been put in a regular room due to a room shortage, and that is the reason for the carpeting and the surprising lack of any pet odor. That being said, this review may very well be for a non-pet room!
