Not its former self

Sheraton Bloomington Hotel

Rooms are still plush, although the whole hotel is awash in trendy-unfriendly gray. I used to practically live here when it was the previous hotel brand Sofitel. I would delight in the customer service: a juice spritzer cocktail upon check in, bi/trilingual front desk, porters, pressed linens on a beautifully appointed table for room service, with the most lovely selections. The graciousness has evaporated. Our $56 breakfast for two was delivered to our room in paper bags. Perhaps it's the timing, but the hotel was mostly empty.

It was the graciousness that kept me coming back, and save the truly stellar assistance from the kind gentleman at the front desk, I can no longer find a reason to drive past MSP down to Bloomington.
The 4 rating is because the amenities in the room are good, the cleanliness is very good, parking is free, pets are free and the "Club" (if you pay for it) provides snacks. Do check with the hotel about your pet being included on the reservation. 2nd reservation this trip that the front desk wasn't notified and had to put us in a different room after checking in and seeing our pet.
