Great house until we found the bedbugs!

Renter beware! We rented through VRBO - the owner did respond when we contacted her and when we showed her the bedbugs she offered us $100.00 and asked us not to leave a bad review. I know she planned to replace the mattress but I don't think she stopped renting the home so I am not confident that she had the home professionally treated. We were out over $2500.00 after having to throw everything we brought into the house out and then have our home and vehicle treated in case any hitched a ride home with us. When I told her about that and asked for the refund of the rental only, she directed me to VRBO who said this was between me and the owner. They also told me the owner advised them that she would not refund anything, not even the $100.00 she offered. I think that was so she did not have to admit that there was an issue. She truly did not take this seriously when we told her about the bugs, so please beware when renting this property.
