Sketchy and scary stay
Motel 6 Redding CA - NorthThe best part of this stay was the kind man at the check in desk. There were so many dogs at this hotel my dog never settled and there was so much dog feces left unattended on the grounds it was hard to walk. Moreover, I am pretty sure this was either a drug rehab halfway house or temporary housing for the unhoused. It seemed like there were a lot of long term residents. I did not feel comfortable staying here at all with my child. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, there weren't any blankets, just sheets-which were gritty. We couldn't walk between our room and car without a cloud of cigarette smoke, barking dogs, rude stares and a few cat calls.

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham EugeneLa Quinta in Eugene was a great location for dog owners right next to Alton Baker Park. Hotel was nice. Staff was a bit stressed out and curt at check in. Pool wasn't functioning and the parking was very limited. I traveled with my adult child driving my car and I drove her U-haul and we were only allowed to park one vehicle. There was no mention on booking of the one-vehicle allowance and the desk staff did not give us any recommendations on possible alternative. I drove my car quite a distance away to find a garage to park it, had to Uber back to the hotel and then back to the car the next morning at quite a cost. When I woke up in the morning there was a pick up truck taking 2 parking spots and 6 or 7 empty spaces in the hotel lot. I was in the middle of a 2000 mile moving trip and this was a pain in the butt.
