Never felt so unwelcome

At check-in was told not allowed to bring dogs, they don’t allow it. When I reminded them they do and have done for yrs as I’ve seen dogs there before they soon changed, but still said no to our dog. Over an hour at reception eventually spoke to a manager. He in the end said ok but dog is only allowed in room only and on garden outside room. When I was walking around the hotel by the restaurant, there was another dog there stirring at the table at breakfast. Spoiled our holiday, felt we weren't welcome.
