Not very useful water fountain
Dog Park at Kiwanis ParkIn order to avoid having to pay a parking fee, poochie and I parked in a public lot across town and walked. When we got here, poochie was really needing a drink. There is only a single water fountain, and it is in the large dog side, so small dogs would have to cross over to drink. But it's actually doesn't really work. It trickles out too slowly to fill the bowl, and it is too low for my medium sized dog to drink. Most Parks have some sort of water faucet to fill larger bowls with, but I'm not seeing anything.
We're out here now, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to cut her Play Time short so we can have the energy to walk back before she gets parched.
That's one bone off for the paid parking, another bone for the faulty water fountain, and a third bone off of for not having a proper substitute.
Edit: upon further reflection and a second visit, I've adjusted my rating to three bones: one off for parking, and a full bone off for the water issue altogether. Water aside, it IS an attractive, spacious, and safe park.
Love it
Hagar BeachWe had a blast today. I gently helped poochie do some swimming, and then just chased her around in the sand when I figured she was ready for something more fun for her.
I love that they provide the bags, and there are even lifeguards on the beach. Amazing for a free activity. Having to be leashed at all times is a bit of a downer, but nothing we couldn't overcome with our retractable leash. Unfortunately, I jammed the springs and had to take her whole collar off when I went to put her in the car.
Four and a half bones rounded up to five.
