Pleasantly surprised
Motel 6 Lexington VAI was nervous about this reservation after spending hours trying to find a dog friendly hotel that was inexpensive. Many of the hotels within a 3 hour radius were getting horrible reviews. Decided to drive farther than planned and chose this place. There was no one at the desk and the door was locked by they quickly responded to the phone out front. The desk clerk was very pleasant and helpful. It was clean and our non smoking room did not “smell like smoke.” There was a nice side yard to run your dog. The extra fee was waived as our dogs were part of the EMS system. Beds were comfortable and the area seemed safe.
Nice hotel
Motel 6 Hillsville VAThe hotel was clean and very dog friendly. It is next to a highway so there is limited room for the dog to run or be out. There is a side lot for them to do their business. The bathroom is exceptionally small but functional. One small sink outside of the shower/toilet room. Shower has good pressure and hot water. Parking is convenient and it’s right next to several fast food places to eat. Not far from the main highway.
Best dog hotel I’ve been in
Motel 6 Staunton VAPeople were very friendly and helpful. Room had easy access. The hotel is surrounded by large fields that allow your dogs a place to room safely or go for a long walk. Rooms are truly dog safe. No carpets for ac indents and the furniture is metal so nothing to chew. It appears to be used by a lot of people who are trainers. We had SAR dogs and there were several with dogs going to scent and agility trials. All the dogs were very well behaved. Would definitely stay there again. This is not a 5 star hotel so don’t expect that. But it’s clean and was decorated for the holiday season. It doesn’t have breakfast but it has free coffee. Beds are firm.
