Poor management

Red Roof Inn & Suites Danville IL

The management seems not to care much about their staff or the property. When I went to check-in, the young lady at the front desk was struggling to get the printer going and mentioned that the manager had just left telling her to just deal with it. She checked me in and provided keys to a King Suite which is what I had booked. When I opened the door, there was a very shocked couple already in the room. I returned back to the desk and the young lady was stunned, she checked both the computer and the printed room roster and stated that nobody should be in that room, they were supposed to have checked out earlier that day. Obviously, they decided to extend their stay and no one bothered to update anything in their reservation system.

Luckily (?) they still had one room left, but it wasn't a suite, which I had really been looking forward to having the extra room after 5 nights in smaller rooms, both for myself and to have some play room for my Golden Retriever. The room itself was only sort of clean, I could see lots of marks on the floors, the towels appeared clean, but threadbare and dingy. In the bathroom, there was a area to the left of the tub where the plaster was brown and collapsed in. The caulking around the shower walls had recently been re-sealed, but the caulking around the tub had not been done and was moldy and filthy. The breakfast options were very limited. I'm not sure how this place got has the review ratings it has based on my experience, I would not recommend it to anyone.
