Not so good
Red Roof Inn Florence Civic CenterWe stayed here twice within a couple of days on a trip south and back only because of the convenience. Both stays the room was not ready by 5pm, then given another room. First stay second room was small but fairly clean; second stay second room was filthy. I actually had to mop the bathroom floor to be able to walk in there. We got many apologies and we know they are short-staffed but still, yuk. The grounds are awful. Lots of room to walk the dog but litter everywhere and dog poop receptacle overflowing (we dog owners try); I put Finney's in a regular trash can. Commented on this the first visit and it was still like that when we returned. Price is descent, though. "You get what you pay for."
Awesome
Red Roof Inn Darien - I-95/ North BrunswickRoom was spacious and very clean and updated. We were given a first floor to accommodate our dog Finney and us as elderly folks. The only slight negative would be that it had rained considerably before we checked in and the doggie area was very muddy. We just walked Finney elsewhere and there are plenty of places to do that. Grounds are very clean. The hotel is off 95 by a good distance so no road noise. In the AM we had a nice selection of coffee. All rooms have indoor access but still easy to unload luggage and if you were on the 2nd floor, there is an elevator. Staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. We will be returning in a couple of weeks for sure. Red Roof never charges for your pets which is a major plus because some hotels charge up to $75 per night. Kudos Red Roof for this one.
