Very Friendly Staff

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Valdosta

Apparently the pet rooms are on the first floor. Ours was, at any rate. Everything as expected for a room at this price level. Note that the fire ant issue that another reviewer pointed out is still a potential problem in the warmer months. We saw what was likely fire ant nests, but no actual ants.

A little spartan but a great deal

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lexington South / Hamburg

As the title indicates, if you are looking for luxury accommodations it's not here. But everything we needed was provided at a reasonable price. Some minor negatives: the luggage carts are the small hand push ones with the lever brakes. So you might need to make two trips if you pack as much as we do. And there only seemed to be two carts available, so one time we had to wait for a cart. For some reason, no eggs at the free breakfast. Maybe they've gotten too pricey. Note that breakfast ends at 9am rather than the more usual 9:30.

Not for the older folks

Aloft Louisville East

In terms of our dog, no problems. But this is a place for young people to meet & greet. The idea seems to be that it’s a kind of dorm with liquor. Pool tables. Stark furnishing. And some kind of air scent infusion in the lobby area which we found annoying. The room was basic. Comfortable bed, but only one comfortable chair. The toilet was, shall we say, visually but not audibly private. The shower head was not adjustable in any fashion, & you had to risk getting hit with cold water when you turned it on. Note that you have to pay for the breakfast. But since they didn’t offer it on a Monday, I can’t tell you how good it was. If you are 35 or under, you might feel comfortable. If you are over 50, go somewhere else.

It adds up

Drury Inn & Suites Valdosta

From the dog perspective, no problems. When the dust settled on our one night two person plus small dog stay, it cost $250. The rooms are clean, the shower functional & adjustable. The bed comfortable. As seems usual, only one comfortable chair, and the desk chair was low so we had to put a pillow on it to elevate to the proper level. We’ve stayed here many times, pre-covid, without a dog. So discounting the $40 dog fee, the cost was significantly higher than in the past, and well over that of a Holiday Inn Express etc. You do get a free but rather basic dinner buffet with 3 free drinks, and a decent breakfast, but still, this place is now overpriced and we won’t stay there any more.

Under construction

Holiday Inn Express Hotel Ooltewah Springs-Chattanooga an IHG Hotel

No problems for the dog. Under construction on some floors, which did not bother us. Otherwise, the usual acceptable overnight experience.
