Very Dog friendly
Barefoot HillsThey are very dog friendly, with some areas to walk pets and close to lots of dog-friendly attractions.
NOT very pet friendly
Best Western Ocean Breeze InnHad a NOT great experience on check in. Found this hotel a while back and saw pet friendly. Called ahead to verify and was assured that they could accommodate my REGISTERED SERVICE ANIMAL. On check in, the lady checking me in immediately called her manager as she was unsure they were allowed to take REGISTERED SERVICE ANIMALS. I had his papers in my hand with his registration number and the knowledge that i had already verified over a month in advance. After her and her manager (over the phone) asked me numerous questions, they seemingly reluctantly ‘allowed’ me to ‘let my dog stay’ after telling me several times he had to stay with us at all times; which is fine. So pet owners beware, even verifying pet friendly and having a legitimate service animal doesn’t seem welcome, and barley tolerated. To make matters better, the lady checking me in didn’t even take a single look at his papers or check his vaccination card.
Amazing Dog Fun
Clarks Hill Park Dog Beach(At Elijah Creek State Park, first entrance in after the guide building) Amazing place to bring dogs during the summer. My dog loves going to swim and play with other dogs!
