Filthy

Filthy house. Upon early check-in the house was still being cleaned. The cleaning crew finished and the house was still filthy. Contacted the rental company and they sent out additional cleaning crew. Whom we tipped because there was so much to clean. We drove six hours to stand outside and wait to enter. The "game room" garage had vomit on the rug, the refrigerator was disgusting, the floor was too dirty to walk on, trash was piled in corner, the garage door was broken, and it smelled too bad to use.

We called for a repair of the door and it was never done. The screened in room was not inhabitable. The door was broken and wouldn't close. A repairman fixed the door after two visits. It was filled with broken furnishings from the home. Most disgusting is the green, slimy, bug infested hot tub in the corner. We called several times to have it drained but it never happened. The house was fly infested and we could never figure where they were coming from. The kitchen is filled with ants.

The rental company sent someone out to spray which was unsuccessful. There was a vacuum with a broken belt. We wanted to clean for ourselves. The rental company dropped off a new vacuum. One pass through the living area and the canister was full. There is s fire pit but it was full of old debris and cigar butts. We called for it to be cleaned which was never done. The pool was dirty all week. A pool person came and left without cleaning it. There are old deflated rafts and broken pool toys strewn about the yard and pool area.

There is a dock but no stairs making it impossible to get in and out of watercraft. We were left with trash from previous renters piled on the side of the house. We had to drag it to the curb for trash pick up on Tuesday. We tipped the trashman to take it away. We wasted so much time calling the rental company and cleaning that it made for the most unpleasant vacation. We left that house cleaner than we received it.
