Just allow dogs off leash
West Hills County ParkDogs are confined to a small pen. Shame that there is such a lack of dog friendliness in our parks!
Very disappointing
Dog Park at West Hills County ParkThis is a Long Islander’s vision of a “dog park”: small, fenced in dirty pen.
This is a massive park that could allow dogs off leash, but they’re constrained to a small fenced in dirt area.
Prepared to be underwhelmed.
Just started allowing dogs
Heckscher ParkThey just started allowing dogs a couple years ago, which I think says a lot about the lack of dog friendliness in the area :(
That being said it’s a nice place to walk your dog. There’s a big pond, ducks. Just watch out for the mean Canada geese and their scat everywhere.
Lots of fun!
Six Harbors Brewing CompanyFun for you and your dog! Dogs are very welcome here and a near constant
Beautiful park, dog friendly
Sagamore Hill National Historic SiteVery dog friendly, they’ll even give your dog a “bark ranger” badge for good behavior!
Outdoor picnic tables
VauxhallBring your dog along at one of the outdoor picnic tables. Dogs are very welcome
Great outdoor dining spot
Besito Mexican RestaurantDogs welcomed outside! Great place for lunch or dinner.
Great outdoor space
Kerber's FarmWe’ve brought our dog here to the outdoor area. There are lots of ducks and farm animals, so it was hard to keep her from freaking out. But otherwise a great place for you and your dog!
Great spot!!
Community Pet SuppliesThey moved and are now on Main Street. No grooming now.
Always have treats available and super friendly staff.
Great for playing fetch!
Coindre HallGreat park that has been an unofficial dog park for decades. Many dogs off leash, never had an issue with them. Despite the community desire for off leash dog areas/hours, the county is stubbornly imposing arcane out of date rules. If you choose to take your dog off leash, be wary of the rangers who can sometimes be extremely aggressive and mean. If you do get a ticket, they always get dismissed so don’t sweat it! Your dogs health and happiness > signs.
