The BEST!

My daughter is a freshman at University of Pittsburgh and she desperately wanted us to bring our dog to Pitt from NJ when we came to visit. This hotel was highly recommended by BringFido reviewers, so we booked it. Hotel Monaco didn’t disappoint. What a beautiful property. The rooms are spacious and beautiful, comfortable beds and beautiful bathrooms. But what set it apart for us was the service of the staff. Our bellman took me to our room while my husband parked the car. In addition to all our stuff and the dog crate, Cleo, our 9-month old Belgian Tervuren pup, wouldn’t get on the elevator. It was comical, honestly, but the bellman made me feel better by telling us how they had a pit bull earlier in the week that was afraid to walk on the tile, so they had to put it on the cart and wheel it up to the room! We finally got her on after much coaxing, and he brought us to the room, setting things up for us and offering dog bowls if needed. But the most incredible part was when we left Cleo in the room to go to the U of Pitt football game. We warned the front desk that she was in the soft crate but may bark for a while as she struggles when separated from us. They told us not to worry as they would take care of her. We returned 4 hours later and found out she busted out of the crate, but our bellman checked on her, played with her and gave her treats while we were out. She caused no damage (other than chewing through the soft crate!) and apparently really loved her visitor. He also brought her downstairs where she was keeping the front desk company! What a wonderful experience for all of us. Knowing how much the staff cared for Cleo gave us such peace of mind. They also had great dog friendly recommendations for restaurants nearby! We will definitely be back!
