Lovely staff!

This is a gorgeous hotel in a very walkable area. The staff was very sweet and understanding as I evacuated from Hurricane Dorian with my cat. My only issue is that I was told it is ok to leave animals unattended and that if I put the “do not disturb” sign on the door no one would enter the room while I was gone. I did put out the sign but a staff member entered for a (surprise) turn down service. They left an unsealed bag of chocolate chip cookies easily accessible on a low nightstand. Fortunately my cat did not dart out of the room or eat any chocolate, but he very easily could have. The hotel should really consider asking customers with pets whether they want this service during check-in!
