Great place to stay
Holiday Inn Express & Suites East Amarillo an IHG HotelThis hotel was welcoming, very clean, newer hotel. They made the dogs welcome and there was grass around the hotel to walk them. Highly recommend.
Missed the mark
La Quinta by Wyndham MarshallWe’ve stayed here before and had a good experience. This time we arrived at 6:30pm and had to wait until 7:30pm for our room. The dogs were exhausted, hungry, and thirsty - with nowhere for us to go and wait due to the heat. We were told there was no other available room and yet we could see at least 12 empty rooms with curtains open and windows with no light as we walked around the building. We also didn’t receive the room we reserved. We had reserved a single king deluxe room so we had room for two large dog crates. We got two double beds without room for two crates without climbing over them all night. Housekeeping was lovely and apologetic. But the front desk clerk was rude and non-accommodating. She spent most of her time outside smoking. On a positive note, there are plenty of places to walk dogs around the building and it’s kept mowed. And when we finally got our room, it was clean.
Welcoming motel
Roadrunner LodgeThe Road Runner Lodge was exceptionally welcoming and clean. They had a fenced and grassy play yard for the dogs. There were treats, water bowl, and towels
for the dog. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The owners were great.
Excellent stay
Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott VanThe hotel was beautiful and new and clean. It was quiet and there was grass to walk the dogs. There was a Love truck stop with several restaurants where we could walk to get food and eat in our room.
Modest hotel
Interstate InnThe hotel was modest, but very clean. Good grassy place to relieve dogs. Our room was quiet. Fortunately, I had shampoo because only small bar of soap provided. Very reasonably priced and friendly staff. Comfortable bed and pillows.
