Terrible Experience

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Albuquerque Midtown

This hotel is currently under renovations which may be what led to several issues with our stay. First, the room was a decent size and well kept. The room was still under renovations in some areas, as there was a large hole is the ceiling of the bathroom. In addition, only 2 towels were left for a family of 5. When we called the front desk to request additional towels, we were told we would need to wait at least an hour for a load to be washed. We then had to go downstairs to grab the towels as there was only 1 front desk person and she was busy and unable to step away. As we were getting ready for bed, we noticed the AC had not turned on and it was a bit stuffy in the room. My husband tried to power it on, but it would not work.

They had the older unit by the window but being managed by a thermostat on the wall. We called the front desk and she requested we reset the thermostat panel. She also reset the breaker, as per her manager's recommendation, and still the issue persisted. She could not accommodate another room for us and at this point it was almost 10pm, and we had an early start to our day. Front desk offered a "fan" for the night, which we accepted but after 25 minutes, had not received it. I had to go downstairs to obtain the fan. Needless to say, it was a long night with 3 kids and a cat, but we managed. I did speak with the manager the next morning and she was apologetic and did offer a discount, but overall, the price we paid was not worth the hassle we had. Glad it was only a 1 night stay.
