Disappointing after a good start

Best Western Trail Dust Inn & Suites

First off let me say that i am not a usually a complainer, we booked our stay for 4 nights, checking in May 26 and checking out May 30. We were staying in a second floor suite with a living area that could be closed off from the bedroom which I thought was nice. The pet area was a fairly large area mostly bereft of grass, OK, I've seen worse. The dog waste bag dispenser was empty although of course we carry our own waste bags. First night the room was warm (not icy cold like most motels, however, the second night it was warmer but not intolerable.

On the third day we requested maid service as we were out until later that evening and upon arriving saw that there was no maid service, well, uh, OK. But entering the room it was a toasty 92°F, turned up the A/C and got nothing but hot air (this is east Texas!). At the front desk I explained the problem to the night clerk on duty and was told she would have to call her manager. To make a long story short, I was told the motel was booked with no rooms available. This property has 69 rooms and were were maybe 20 cars in the parking lot at 8:45 at night.

As per her manager, I was told that if we vacated our room immediately, return the keys and find other accommodations elsewhere they would refund the remaining 2 nights (this I have not been able to verify yet). Luckily found a room at the Clarion Sulpur Springs. Very nice, much more $$, 5 bones to them.

Kingman Red Roof Inn

Baymont by Wyndham Kingman

Clean and quiet room #112. No dedicated pet area, a few small dirt areas near back sidewalks. Plenty of asphalt, that's for sure. Not a dog resort, but Ok for one night.
