Great for overnight stay

The Smart Stay Inn

We stayed here overnight while traveling from South FL to SC. It has a small doggy park. And, though not huge, there's also a grassy area on the other side of the parking lot where you can walk your dog(s). I was initially hesitant to book here as it's an older 2-story "motel" style but they had a lot of good reviews. Most importantly, they have a very pet-friendly policy - no size or breed restrictions. There's no pet fee for the 1st dog and only $10 if you have additional dogs. The rooms were very clean and up-to-date. If you like a soft to medium mattress (e.g. firmness rating 6 or lower) you'll find the bed a bit firm but it was still ok for a night or two. Jake, the receptionist, was very friendly and helpful. Just one word of caution... if you're going to stay here when it's warm enough to use the pool, I suggest you call and request a room as far from the pool as possible to avoid potentially noisy kids.

Convenient to Interstate

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Rock Hill

Stayed overnight on a trip from FL to NC. No pet fee charged! Staff was nice. Room clean. Only on is I have is a big dog is big and the available (carpeted) floorspace for her to sleep on was inadequate. I ended up putting a blanket I had brought over the bed so she could sleep with me. Oh yeah, not a lot of area to walk your dog but they do have a poop bin complete with poo bags. :-)
All in all, good place to stop overnight but not to stay for any length of time if you have a big dog.
