Kirk Park Dog BeachKirk Park dog park is often times over run with too many dogs, owners not picking up after their dogs, and no park personnel keeping dogs and their owners off of the fragile dunes. There is no fence separating the non dog portion of the beach. Dogs run rampant on resident’s private beach properties which is a huge safety and trespassing concern. Responsibility ultimately rests on the dog owner, however, the park needs to be more vigilant with keeping park patrons within park boundaries, making sure all dogs have registration tags and generally keeping aggressive dogs out of the park. Several dogs have been injured at the park due to overcrowding, especially on holiday weekends. The park should limit the number of dogs allowed into the park to insure the safety of park patrons, dogs and private property owners.
