Fraudulent charges

My daughter and I and our dog stayed at Baymont in Grand Haven on 8/23/23. We checked in at around 9:00pm and 7:30 am for her senior picture. The next day I see a charge on my account for $250 charge. I call and ask what it was for and was told it was because I smoked in our room. I said that’s not possible because I don’t smoke and never have. The girl told me she couldn’t do anything about it because that’s how it was reported. I said it was reported wrong. She said she’d check with the person that cleaned but not until she worked again. I told her that was unacceptable and I wanted a manager. The manager was full of bs and you could tell this was common practice for them. I have filed a complaint with the BBB because after reviewing this hotel chain it’s pretty common for them to rip ppl off. Between the smell of weed and cigarette smoke in the hallways, there’s no way they can say you smoked in your room. Especially when you don’t smoke.
