Excellent stay
Alexander InnOld hotel in the heart of Philadelphia. Very reasonable rates, including breakfast. Don't expect frills, but you'll get plenty of charm. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Solid stay in a standard hotel
Hampton Inn & Suites MysticFriendly staff, clean facilities, good location, good price. Everything else is quite standard, from the rooms to the breakfast.

Hampton Inn & Suites PlymouthConvenient to reach from highways and just a few minutes from downtown. Very friendly staff. Added bonus: we own an EV car and there are 2 free level 2 chargers in the parking lot of the hotel next door.

Horrible hours
Wonder BarIt was Friday and we were near Asbury Park after an afternoon at the beach with our dog. perfect occasion to check out the highly rated Wonder Bar.
We make a small detour and get there at 7:15 pm, only to find out that the dog section closes at 7pm ! I guess the management at Wonder Bar figures that all the people with dogs turn into Florida retirees ☹️

Don't be fooled by appearances
Wonder View InnWhen we arrived we were somewhat perplexed, from the outside it looks like a cheap motel, but once you enter the room it was pleasant enough, clean and comfortable.
They told me that two other buildings on the property, Hilltop and Hillcrest, are actually better, but they were booked when we got there so could not verify in person, you might want to try those if you want an upgrade.
The staff was welcoming and helpful.

Melville House NewportHistoric old homes turned into hotel rooms, very charming, but don't expect the grand hotel. Excellent location with parking included. Very welcoming staff.
