Nice, clean hotel

Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Amarillo I-40 West TX

Nice hotel, offering decent accommodation for travelers with dogs. Close to I-40 freeway, but relatively quiet. No restaurant onsite, but several options are a short drive away. Hotel front desk associate was polite but not particularly friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable. Modernizing the air conditioning system would make the stay even better. Good value for money.

Beautiful, historic hotel

Stockyards Hotel

Gorgeous historic hotel in stockyard section of Fort Worth. Every room is pet friendly. Warm and welcoming front desk staff, who thoughtfully asked if we’d like a room overlooking the street, or a quieter room further inside the hotel. Rooms were tastefully decorated and spotless. There is a wonderful bar and restaurant right next door, where you can eat in or get takeout. You’re also very close to lots of restaurants, bars and live music venues if you want to explore the district. The highlight for us was seeing the Stockyard Herd (beautiful Long Horn cattle) relaxing in their pens.

Our room faced the street and it wasn’t particularly noisy when we stayed. The hotel thoughtfully provides ear plugs if there are any “loud cowboys” in town. The bed was extremely comfortable. We had a wonderful sleep after driving all day. Parking is limited at the hotel, due to it’s location. There are a few 2hr parking spots in the street. There is also a $20 overnight valet parking option. The hotel has carts for taking bags and luggage to your room, if you valet park. Overall, great stay. Highly recommended.

Stunning Santa Fe accommodation

Inn at Vanessie

Loved this hotel. Friendly staff, fantastic location, wonderful onsite, restaurant, drop dead gorgeous suite with living room, fireplace, kitchen table and full size fridge, massive bathroom, balcony, original art and the most comfortable bed during our cross country trip. My husband and our two dogs loved it. So much so, that we asked to stay the following day, but couldn’t do so because it was already sold out. Bummer. Anyway, you’re walking distance from the Santa Fe Plaza, galleries and parkland beside the Santa Fe River. We were on the second floor which was great, but it could be problematic if you’re carrying a lot of luggage from your car, or if you have older dogs who don’t deal with stairs. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would go back again in a heartbeat. Excellent.

Great stay, just outside of Grand Canyon

Grand Canyon Plaza Hotel

Large, comfortable, clean rooms in hotel located in Tusuyan just outside of Grand Canyon Park. You can park right outside your room, which helps when carting luggage, or getting your dogs settled into the room. There is also a lovely indoor pool and restaurant area, which is dog friendly. We didn’t take our dogs there, but it was nice to have the option to do so. There is a gift shop onsite, for any Grand Canyon trinkets you may want/need. There is also a nice breakfast/lunch restaurant and saloon for dinner. The staff are pleasant, but seemed a little tired by the early starters while we were there (the breakfast restaurant opens at 5am for visitors wanting to get to the Grand Canyon early). Overall, it was a nice stay and good value for money.

Comfortable stay in Palm Springs

A Place in the Sun - Adults Only

Tony the Innkeeper was very welcoming and helpful during our stay. The grounds of the hotel are lovely, with many palm trees and a gorgeous pool and BBQ area. The rooms are mid century with a Hawaiian vibe. Nice pet friendly outdoor sitting area. Room was very clean. The room would be even better with more modern appliances (TV, coffee maker) and toiletries. Pleasant stay overall.

Scary Place

Hotel Francis

The hotel looks fine online - and Operations Manager Anita was super nice and helpful. But when we arrived at around 8pm, the driveway was dimly lit, the gator sign near the front pond was a good reminder to keep furry friends on leash around water in Louisiana, and there were multiple guests watching us from their balconies as we arrived (which was creepy). Our room was located at the back of the hotel, in an even more dimly lit area. Neighboring guests were having an increasingly heated argument that had the potential to escalate to violence. We were legitimately worried for our safety. The room was neat, but a bit grubby. We checked out within 10 mins and just kept traveling vs. staying. Wasn’t worth the risk. I really wish this wasn’t our review, because we truly want to support small hotels and help them to get business. But I couldn’t recommend this place in good conscience. I hope someone else out there had a better stay at Hotel Francis, to offset our experience.
