Good location, but too much noise

First time here. Most of the things the motel could control were acceptable. Check in was efficient and courteous. Room was clean upon entry. Room VERY basic. Small TV. Limited channels. Room too expensive for what you get. We did have a dog with us. Up charge of $33 including tax - that’s reasonable. They did have a dog run at back of property that was good to let our dog off leash for a few minutes. The area around this motel is NOISY and the rooms do NOT block any of the noise. The parking lot is shared with a restaurant/bar next door and its’ one way nature forces all traffic to drive by all the rooms. The typical vehicle in Carolina Beach is and unnecessarily loud lifted truck. Mix that with bar patrons leaving until closing time and it was tough to sleep. So if any of your humans or dogs are light sleepers, this is NOT the place for you. Lastly, the walkways smell like an ashtray. EVERY room has a bench and a cigarette receptacle. Let me be clear, I room did not smell like it, but as soon as you leave your room you are overwhelmed by it.
