Avoid at all costs
Ramada Plaza by Wyndham AlbanyWe should have expected a bad experience when we arrived. The grass around the property had knee-high weeds and litter everywhere. Because we were traveling with our chocolate lab, we were relegated to the older, darker, rear two-story structure that is separated by a long hallway from the main eight story hotel. As we arrived to our room we were immediately struck by the distinct odor of mold or mildew. We got the ice bucket but the ice machine was either out of order or unplugged. I also noticed that the vending machine had an "out of order" sign on it. I went to the front desk and they had to unlock the restaurant to get me some ice. I was told that there were operable ice machines on the 2nd, 4th and 6th floors and that I could use the elevator for my future ice needs. (How convenient). When I returned to the room I attempted to turn on one of three lamps in our room; one took two light bulbs and the other two were single bulb lamps. Guess what? Not one light bulb to be found. I again went to the front desk to explain the situation. They said that housekeeping would address the situation. About ten minutes later, housekeeping arrived with four light bulbs and explained that the room inspector should have noticed the absence of bulbs. (I'm thinking to myself: room inspector?) One final comment to give one an idea of the atmosphere of this place: there was an ironing board but predictably no iron. Truly funny if it wasn't so sad!
Beautiful Spot on the water
Rumrunners at Cape HarbourWe went yesterday and the staff was very welcoming and immediately offered water to Coco. The food was great as was the atmosphere--4 paws up!
