Time Warp Motel

Cimarron Inn Klamath Falls

During a road trip, we stayed 1 night in a King-size room on the 1st floor with 2 doodles. We felt like we were in a time warp! — 1970 was calling, wanting its motel back 🤣. The bldg. was very dated (exterior/interior) w/ legit 70’s decor, complete with a burnt-sienna orange bedspread. The walls were also thin. We heard motel guests above us, next to us, in the parking lot, you name it. The room itself was clean & the bed was comfortable. Also, there were TONS of TV channels to watch. The bathroom was a bummer. It didn’t have a fan & the tub/shower combo needed attention. We couldn’t tell if the tile grout in the shower was moldy, or just discolored with age. Either way, it was icky! Now for the doggy amenities: the room had lots of room for our 2 big dog crates & there was green grass near our room for doggy breaks. We saw lots of motel guests w/ dogs during our stay. Beware — at check-in, I reiterated that we had 2 dogs. I then had to sign multiple documents related to liability waivers & remedies for pet damages. I’ve never seen anything like it. Our dogs are well-behaved, so it was fine — just seemed over the top. The staff was very pleasant & helpful. Places to shop & eat were close ... including Jimmy Johns, Starbucks, Dutch Bros. & Dollar Tree.

Just so-so

Quality Inn & Suites Downtown Walla Walla

First time stay here with our 2 doodles — in town to visit family. We spent 4 nights including weekend & weekdays. In a King room, there was barely enough space for our 2 dog crates. The bed was comfortable & the hotel was quiet, but we had some issues in our room. The shower rod was broken, the tub/shower plumbing was loose in the wall, all of the doors stuck so much it was difficult to open them ... and the room had a strong, musty odor. Each time we returned to the room, we had to open the window to air it out. There was an interesting mix of folks staying at the hotel: families w/ kids, older folks, truckers & a few sketchy characters. The hotel is close to a highway overpass. After dark, my husband would take the dogs out — I didn’t feel totally safe on my own at night there. There was a good lawn area for the pups — but no complimentary doggy bags. BYOB 🐶

Good stay overall

SpringHill Suites by Marriott Boise Parkcenter

Nice place overall. Clean & comfortable when traveling with 2 large dogs. Queen suite had plenty of room for dog crates, suitcases, etc. Our only criticism is that the gym remains open 24 hrs. to guests. Our room was across the hall from the gym — so the noise after 10pm was bothersome.

Gem in Winnemucca

Best Western Plus Gold Country Inn

We stopped overnight in Winnemucca with our 2 dogs. Our expectation was low given the desolate nature of the surroundings. This Best Western was such a nice surprise! Comfortable bed, spacious room, helpful staff & green area outside for dogs. Couple small issues: patched bathtub (unsightly) & shower curtain missing a ring on one side.
