Almost 5 Bones
Kruse Park Dog BeachThe only thing, and I mean the only thing, keeping me from giving this place 5 bones were the flies. The flies on this particular day were terrible. They wasn't attacking me so much as they were making it an unpleasant experience for my dog. Otherwise we had fun and the beach is moderately accessible enough without too much trouble to get to from parking.
3.5 Bones?
La Quinta by Wyndham South BendAt the time of this review, the average rating is 3.5 bones. My dog and I did not even get a 3 bone rating type of experience. The hotel is in a modest location. Close to the airport and places to eat if you like mostly fast food, and somewhat near what looked to be ghetto. The room itself had a stains on the carpeted flooring, rips in the curtains, busted showerhead. Front Desk was friendly but the other hotel staff were not as professional. I would not stay here or recommend anyone else staying here unless they have low standards for them and their pets.
Only waterfalls
Ricketts Glen State ParkThe waterfalls and trail on their own would be an impressive 5 bones if it wasn't for the crowds of people. The waterfalls on their own is what had attracted me to get in the car with my dog and take the 5 hour trip.
Tough critic
Raccoon Creek State ParkI will be the first to admit my being a tough critic, and perhaps here, being unfair. I want to give no less than 4 bones but here I have to rate a 3. It's a nice setting. There are more than 40 miles of trail and a lake, but compared to other places I have been with my dogs, it does not meet or exceed 3 bones.
Moderately decent enough
Panhandle TrailAdequately maintained for the most part but have seen broken glass and trash about. Also runs along some neighboring properties which can be loud at times but that is to be expected.
