Good value
Days Inn by Wyndham Luray ShenandoahIt's an old-fashioned drive-in hotel, and it is rather nice to park outside your door. Surrounded by fields. It is aging a bit and they need to fix some of the bathroom tile, but there was an effort to update a bit to have decently new-ish shower curtain and towels, bed and bedding, TV, room paint. We visited to hike the nearby Shenandoah National Park and were comfortable. No sketchy people were there. Attendant was present in a nice lobby, no breakfast except coffee and juice and a Costco granola bar. A good option especially with a dog and I would stay again.
Great option and dog friendly
Hampton Inn Jonesville ElkinNicely decorated, full hotel but room was quiet. Two dog runs. They left out popcorn and bananas for guests. Great experience.
Good value, nice place
Days Inn by Wyndham Penn StateRoom seems recently renovated and large. Reasonably priced compared to other places. Simple breakfast. Front desk was kind and responsive. Would definitely stay again.
Nice location, good value
Baymont by Wyndham HarrisburgStayed here since State College was full due to Parent's Weekend. Room was large, location was quiet and safe, with suitable nearby restaurants. Good sized dog area. Hotel looked like it had been cleaned well and refurbished, with good beds. Carpets near side entrances are pretty rough but walls and doors seemed clean, no trash left around. Simple breakfast. Definitely would stay again.
Good value
Clarion Inn Belle VernonWe stopped off here on our way west to bike a section of the great Allegheny rail trail. This is an older hotel that's in the process of renovation. Our large room was very nice The beds were great and all the fixtures in the bathroom new. They have a large dog run. The room was fairly close to the highway but the soundproofing isn't bad which muted much of the road noise and did not bother us. Breakfast was simple - they didn't have many guests so there were assorted individual roles some juice milk fresh coffee and Jimmy Dean sandwiches. I thought it was fine. The restaurant was still closed but there was a decent bar grill 5 minutes drive away. Overall a very good choice and a good value for area with limited hotel options.
Nice place, good value
Cumberland Inn and SpaThere were few options for staying close to downtown Cumberland, we decided to try this neighborhood family-run hotel in a converted old house. They've taken care with the space, check-in went well, no problems. It was nice to walk to downtown across the river and to the nearby historical buildings/neighborhoods. The main issue we had was the road noise at night from nearby highway 68. Earplugs recommended.
Near Harper's Ferry
Holiday Inn Express Charles Town an IHG HotelStayed here with our chuggle dog while riding the C&O rail trail. The hotel has the largest, nicest dog run I have ever seen at a hotel. Good quiet room, nice standard breakfast, friendly staff.
Quiet hotel, lovely location
SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western KeyserQuiet new-ish hotel located in a little rise surrounded by wooded hills. Location is close to town and restaurants. Friendly staff, great dog-friendly place. Highly recommend.
Large hotel with good rooms
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Clifton/RutherfordThere aren't that many dog-friendly hotels but this is a good one. Large hotel with a corridor of pet-allowed rooms. Rooms have been updated, clean. Nice breakfast.
Budget option
Budget InnIt is a pretty old style motel that needs to be updated. The bedding should be changed; the bottom sheet was not fitted, only laid over the mattress. The bedspread is old and the heater is loud. Other than that, the place is quiet, no bugs, and close to the rather charming town of Luray. The floors were OK, the microwave seemed new. The room was decently clean and management was doing their best.
Good value
Red Roof Inn PLUS+ Pittsburgh East - MonroevilleI am a woman traveling alone with a small dog, and I thought this was a good place to stay. Location is safe enough, the room had new counters and bathroom fixtures, new TV, very clean. Had to change my room at first since the people next door were fighting loudly-not the hotel's fault-and they moved me to a quiet room with no further incident. Great price. Would definitely stay again.
Good value, nice place
My Place Hotel - Pittsburgh North/Monaca PAVery nice room, well kept. Room was close to the lobby and there was some talking late at night but not too much. Front desk was friendly. Great place to take the dog.
Quiet room, Good value
Comfort Inn & Suites YorkVery quiet room, surprising since the hotel is located next to the highway and neighbors were next door. There was a strong mildew smell from the air conditioning when we first came in that dissipated when we turned it off, which should be looked at. The staff was patient and did their best during a difficult time with COVID.
Good dog-friendly place
Extended Stay America Suites Philadelphia MalvernOur family of four stayed here after a sudden multi-day power outage. Linoleum floors helped make it dog-friendly. The rooms were quiet, the hotel is im a good location, I felt safe (no loud voices or partiers) and located near a big Wegmans and Chick Filet nearby and other restaurants. There are some condition problems- the rooms need updating and the floors should be deep cleaned. The hair dryer was old and broken. The dish set supplied were not complete. In spite of being suddenly full, and dealing with the COVID restrictions, the staff worked hard to turn over rooms and were very patient and capable. The place in general could use some loving care and updating, but still a good option for the price.
Nice choice
Quality Inn BedfordMotel style but the room was nicely updated quiet and clean. Rate includes a simple breakfast. Friendly staff. Nice relief area for my dog. Best Quality Inn I've stayed at.
