Bring a Crate

I was lucky enough to throw my crate in the car before leaving. I almost didn't. When I arrived at the hotel, the lady asked me if I had a crate. Thinking she meant if I was leaving my dog in the room unattended. It was late and I said no. She said well then you can't stay here. You must have a crate. I then said, I do have a crate in the car. She said, but you just said you don't have a crate. I had to go out to the car and bring in my crate to show her. They did give me a room close to the side entrance, which was super convenient. But I think how close I came to being stuck without a place to stay if I hadn't thrown my crate in the car that morning. There is nothing on their website stating you need a crate.
