Over priced mediocre food with lacking service
Ocracoke Oyster Companyood was not too great for the price. My daughter and I shared the 1st mate which was 1 rather small piece of grilled fish that was bland 6 pieces of bland grilled shrimp and one rather small crab cake with loaded fries for $26.99. When you ask for grilled they charge extra for each piece not the meal. They claim award winning crab cakes but they were pretty bland and not much lump meat. We ate a little tiny place called Springer grill at swanquarter before getting on the ferry where I got 2 crab cakes that were 10 times better and only cost $12 with 2 great sides. They gumbo my husband had and the crab soup my daughter had was 7.49 and you get a bigger bowl at olive garden for less. Service was not very good. Waitress was friendly but couldn't keep a drink refilled or the table cleaned off. She only took dishes after we stacked them for her just before bring the bill. Was charged 18% gratuity instead of the standard 15% for my husband and our 6 kids not an actual large party.
