Beware of Owner

Critical: Professionalism, Value

I am a former employee of Henderson Pet Resort. I was interested in working for this company because a. extreme animal lover and b. "Luxury, five star treatment of your cats and dogs." I learned that they do not provide all of the special treatment people pay for.
If you are interested because of CERTIFICATION and TRAINING of their employees.. go somewhere else. No one is trained or certified except the trainers. Make sure you only take them to training do not pay for day care or lodging because they rip people off. I asked about employees getting certified while in the interview process, I was brushed off.
If you want to board here because of the big screen TV's that are supposed to be on, comforting your dog, go somewhere else. The TV's were never turned on, not once.
If you want to go here because of the special REPORT CARDS, go somewhere else. They get so behind, they take your dog's picture but fill out report cards long after play has ended, many employees just picking any random descriptive words that they see in the scroll bar of pre-written adjectives.
If you want to go here for the INDIVIDUALIZED TREATMENT of love and affection for your family member, go somewhere else. Suprisingly, the majority of employees did not know any of the dog's names.
They also do not greet the dogs in the morning with a word or a pet when they feed (even though the dogs spent the night in isolation, in a strange location).
If you want to go here for the special play packages for your CAT, go somewhere else.
They clean the litter and feed in early morning. That is all the attention I was taught they get during day. Some cats should have been taken out twice a day according to the packages some people pay for.
If you want to go here for QUALITY, yep you guessed it, go somewhere else. The play yard outside is deteriorating and dogs have been chewing on the plastic grass. This is a SAFETY ISSUE that should have been addressed right away. Instead of covering with duct tape until it's fixed, the owner would rather leave the seams exposed in fear of not looking good enough on camera.
If you pay for BATHS, [[during daycare or lodging]] go somewhere else. I was taught shampoo and water. No concentration on paws or face. No conditioner. They squirt ear cleaner directly into the dogs ear (instead of gauze or cotton balls which can cause infection.) I watched a dog get 50% dried and instead of being placed in a drying crate, he was put back into his kennel. No towels or blankets are distributed. Tons of blankets behind the scenes but the dogs didn't receive them.
You pay all this money so that your can feel at ease knowing your loved one is in good hands when they can't be in yours... and then your baby gets the minimum.
If you want to go here for any other reason than training or unlimited medication, go check out your other options.
There were a couple great people that work there, but the owner is shady. She fired me without cause. She said it was not performance related (which I know is true).
If it wasn't performance related, obviously it was personal.
I believe they knew I was noticing all of the company's inconsistencies because I brought a couple of them to their attention (trying to be a proactive team member). I believe the owner was afraid I would report these facts when nothing was done to correct them.
An employee also went through my locker (which would be on camera) I asked the owner about it, she accused me of having something tempting the employee would want in my purse, like it was my fault that they went through my personal belongings.
A sane owner would have been surprised and apologetic. She would have reviewed the footage and been a professional. Instead, she fired me. I believe they thought I would report them and they didn't want me seeing anymore of their dirty laundry.
If she treats her employees like this, (she also talks behind their backs) how much does she get away with regarding the animals who can't say anything.
