Not recommended

I booked a room for me, my 2 kids and dog as we traveled across country.

I was neither expecting nor do I require 5-star W Hotel type accommodations, chocolates on my pillows or turn-downs service, but I have some standards. From the dirty, worn wall to wall carpeting to the damaged and badly patched walls in the stairhall, the cloudy double-hot tub sized pool and cramped workout closet, this hotel is a dump. Add to this its scenic location backed by I-80 and nestled between two gas stations, an adult “toy” store, and an OTB package store, not only is this hotel far from family friendly, but I am actually concerned for my safety walking the dog tonight in the parking lot. As if all this weren’t enough, there was a frozen, partially eaten large bready pretzel in the freezer of our room.

On the plus side, the staff, one of whom was clearly first day on the job, were extremely accommodating and pleasant. That does count for something.

Do yourself a favor, stay somewhere else.
