Very clean and very friendly staff
Comfort Inn & SuitesWe had to make a reservation on the fly as we were not sure where we wanted to stop for a night, returning to PA from Florida and getting a later start than we would have preferred. The hotel was super clean and the staff at the front desk were very friendly and greeted our dog enthusiastically. It was a wonderful night's stay after a stressful 2 weeks.

Perfect place for our stay
Candlewood Suites New Bern an IHG HotelI admit that I was a bit concerned about reserving a room at this hotel for a few nights based on some of the reviews. We were thinking of renting a home/condo through one of the other sites, but things didn't really match what we needed so we decided to move forward with the Candlewood Suites. And really, it could not have been better. Our room was on the first floor, as we expected, and with the exception of other guests who were seemingly unable to quietly close their doors at night (which happens in every hotel), our stay was relatively quiet. We had easy access to an exit door to take our dog out, and there is a lovely grassy area behind the hotel to walk the dogs, play ball (if your dog can be trusted to return as it's not fenced!), etc. The proximity to downtown New Bern is wonderful - very quick in and out - and there are plenty of other stores and restaurants near the hotel if you don't want to be downtown. The hotel worked very well for us and our dog!
