Great option
La Quinta by Wyndham Bakersfield NorthWe moved to this hotel after a hairraising experience at another hotel and both our pups immediately relaxed. The staff were kind and courteous, the room large and clean. The breakfast was simple but very nice, even the eggs tasted fine powdered or not. The doggy potty area was close by and well maintained.
The price is well worth the peace of mind. This is an up and coming area geared toward industry where security seems to be a priority. There are various food options within walking distance.

Horrible location
Motel 6 Bakersfield CA - Convention CenterWe saw a number of reviews saying this place had been renovated and was much better. The rooms had been slightly renovated but could use a bit more work. The staff was amazing. They were all very kind and helpful. However the location and clientele left much to be desired. My dogs were unsettled from the start. Drug addicts wandered around the property scoping out cars and when I took my dogs for a walk multiple men appeared at the second floor railing leering at me. After that we immediately checked out and went elsewhere.
