Nice stay

Shasta Inn

I wish they had a better designated pet area, but otherwise decent.

Fine for the dogs, one thing lacking

The Lodge at Tiburon

We had no problems with the dogs, other than being on the second floor which is inconvenient when you have dogs that need to go out in the middle of the night, especially ones that are afraid to go up stairs that have open gaps in them and the dog is too heavy to carry. The elevator for our building was out of order, so that wasn't an option. Other than that, the major problem we found is that they covered up all the electrical outlets in the room so there was nowhere to plug in my husband's bipap (medically necessary) or charge our electronics. They purposely made it impossible to use any outlets, but maybe this is their way of "dog proofing the room"? I've never run into that problem at any other dog friendly accommodations, but if that is the case they should have put in the typical baby proofing plug covers that can be removed if you need to use the outlet. These were sealed shut, and it was quite annoying having only one plug in the room, far away from the head of the bed. I'd also suggest they use luxury vinyl plank or tile instead of carpet in the pet rooms. It's just easier to keep clean.

On the plus side, the hotel is pleasant, the room was clean, the staff polite, and it's in a wonderful location. If it wasn't for the problem with the lack of electrical outlets I would have given it a better rating.
