Worth every penny
Centerstone Plaza Hotel Soldiers Field Mayo Clinic AreaAs part of a lengthy road trip with my pup, this was the best hotel. It's not the newest or shinier but it has all amenities that we haven't had since before covid (ice machine, free breakfast with more than just cereal and vending machines). Everything was clean. There was plenty of green space around us so that my pup could go potty. Also a nice area to take him for a walk! We will definitely be back
Not worth the money
Red Roof Inn Columbus TaylorsvilleWe stayed here because of the no pet fees. "Due to covid" there was no ice, no vending machines, no free breakfast or coffee, and the lobby was closed. The bedding was upgraded, but that is it. Otherwise it's an older hotel & and dingy. There is a nice area for the dog to run around in, but it's behind a closed restaurant and the "party" rooms of the hotel. Otherwise I wouldn't go outside. When we got to the hotel, there were 3 police cars at the closest gas station.
Best dog friendly chain
Red Roof Inn Lexington SouthRed Roof Inn (RRI) is my goto place when traveling with my dog. They never have a problem if I have more than 1 dog, big or small. If you stay on the backside of the 2nd building, it has a few places to take the dog, and a ballpark next door.
Avoid this place.
Rodeway InnI would give this place a -5 bones if I could.
When we booked our 4 night stay, we told them that we will have a small dog with us & that we are hurricane evacuees. We were early to knoxville, so we stopped to see if we could check in early. That was at 1 pm. We were adamently & then rudely told that we absolutely could not check in before 3pm. Room was ok, tub looked horrible. The last night of our stay, we received a call from the front desk about 330pm. They asked if we had a dog with us and we said yes. They then said they needed to see us at the front desk. We were then informed that we did not tell them we had a dog with when we checked in & said that we owed them a $100 fine. We refused to pay that, and they decided to only charge an additional $10 a night and we could stay our last night. We offered to leave & they would absolutely not refund the last night of our stay. We will NEVER stay here again.
It makes a dive look like a castle.
I also know that they made another room leave because they had a dog with.
Great place
Charlie Brown's Restaurant and LoungeThey were great. Dogs are welcome on the deck in back. It's totally covered, so it was awesome since it was raining. They loved the dog, gave him water & treats first. The treats he proceeded to drop in between the deck boards.
