DON'T STAY HERE!
Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham VancouverThe hotel is dated, taking that into account, it was still horrible! You enter a driveway the had potholes that could swallow a car if not damage it. The lobby is cold dark and uninviting. We went out for dinner and the lobby reeked of Marijuana and the lobby attendant was wasted off his gourd when we returned!
This was the most expensive room on our vacation, mind you, where we had beautiful views of the ocean or the strait, our view, especially because the curtains in our dank stench filled room, didn't close all the way; was of the homeless encampment behind the building, which is where you would think you could have walked your dog. Not to mention the cesspool of miscellaneous stains all over the carpet.
It looks like they started doing some improvements like upgrading the bathroom, but then they said the hell with it. They left holes in the wall where they moved items from. You had to force the room door closed behind you. The "extra" security lock on the door was not secured and looked like it had been damaged after the door was forced open. The window locks on the window of our first floor room were not secure and easily slid open. We felt unsafe, especially our pup, it felt dirty, dangerous and downright disgusting! Don't stay here! While they allow pets, they did nothing to accommodate them, and left all us feeling like neglected animals!
Room with a view
Hi-Tide Oceanfront InnDoggo was provided a dedicated sheet and a couple towels as well as a water bowl and some treats in a room facing the ocean (unusual for a pet friendly room). The upstairs neighbors kept us awake until 3am so soundproofing is lacking, and the only reason it’s not 5 bones. This was a return visit for us. Would come back again.
