The Best! (But Hard To Find!)
Grand Mere State ParkIt was an adventure finding this place but this beach is really a hidden gem. You will have to hike a ways to get to the beach but it is worth the hike. The trails are unmarked, so you might even get lost trying to find the beach. When we got to the beach, we had it all to ourselves - probably because it's so hard to find and we went mid-week in late September. It's a beautiful, clean beach for you and your dog, and if you're lucky like we were, you might have the place all to yourselves.
Wow! Our Dog Loved It!
Warren Dunes State ParkThis is a good sized dog beach that is only a very short walk from the parking lot. It's clean and free of debris - no garbage on the beach and hardly any driftwood - so your dog will have fun and be safe too. Very nice!
Fun With Your Dog At A Winery? Yes!
Round Barn Winery & EstateDogs are allowed on the grounds, and when we went, our dog was even allowed in the tasting room inside the barn. I don't know if dogs are always allowed inside, but we went on a Thursday afternoon and it was not super-crowded like on the weekends. Maybe that was why. All the winery staff were friendly and we liked everything we tried in our tasting (we brought some home).
Great Place!
Haymarket Brewery & TaproomWe went to Haymarket and sat on the patio with our dog. The patio is between the restaurant/taproom and a large lawn area with some more seating which means there is plenty of room for you and your dogs. If you need to walk your dog, there is a good sized area for that beyond the lawn. Good food and great beers. We will be back.
